Initially, although I can connect the extender to the router, the devices that are connected to the extender did not have internet. In my case, it was the router (Netgear WNDR3400v3) that was causing the problem. It has, by default, the extender's internet "Blocked".
Yesterday I lost all internet access on all the items connected to my router via wifi.
